Rajasthan Royals skipper Sanju Samson will miss the team’s upcoming IPL 2025 clash against Royal Challengers Bengaluru, as he continues to recover from an abdominal injury.

In an official update, the franchise stated:
“Sanju Samson is currently recovering and will stay back at the team’s home base under the care of selected RR medical staff. He will not travel to Bengaluru for the upcoming match against RCB as part of his rehab process.”

The team added that his condition is being monitored closely and his return will be evaluated on a game-by-game basis.

Samson had also missed RR’s previous match against Lucknow Super Giants, having first sustained the injury while batting against Delhi Capitals. His absence has once again placed Riyan Parag in charge, who earlier captained the side at the beginning of the season when Samson was recovering from thumb surgery.

In Samson’s absence, 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi was handed a surprise debut in the game against LSG, signaling Rajasthan’s willingness to test young talent amid injury setbacks.

Currently placed eighth on the points table with just two wins from eight games, Rajasthan Royals are desperate for momentum. They face a high-stakes encounter against RCB at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on April 24 — but they’ll have to do it without their captain once again.
